Advising

Assist client leadership in improving care delivery and outcomes:

  • Align client values with desired change

  • Match innovative delivery trends with client strengths

  • Avoid common, costly pitfalls that doom improved outcomes

We begin with listening to client goals. We also gather key information regarding key stakeholders.

Next, we dialogue with leadership and staff about what works to achieve desired change. Like responding to the demands of accountable care in the face of limited resources. And leveraging innovations in care delivery to improve measurable outcomes. We then facilitate decision making and mobilize support for next steps.

we've also helped physicians to rediscover a genuine sense of community with patients through innovations in care delivery like group medical visits which reduce ED visits and hospital re-admissions.

Workshops

Sue Houck's hands-on workshops have assisted change initiatives lead by the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, Quality Partners of Rhode Island, Health TeamWorks and others to achieve complex deliverables to improve care delivery, often within tight budgets. Assistance has included advising project leadership as well as onsite improvements in care delivery. Sue’s extensive experience facilitating desired change enables honest, in-depth dialogue and learning.

We also use an innovative 360 degree candid feedback tool to assesses progress. Metrics include process and clinical measures as well as leadership support. We facilitated the development of learning communities to build peer-to-peer learning and accountability.

Speaking

Accountable Care Organizations and other emerging delivery models will only be as successful as the care that's provided to each patient. Care that honors tradition but also looks to the future. Care that leverages technology as well as patients skills.

From innovations in care delivery to reducing waste and shifting from a transaction culture to deepen relationships with patients while reducing waste we've helped healthcare leaders effectively respond to today's mushrooming complexity. Our workshops bring participants the knowledge to design care for better value.

We design presentations around client interviews to understand the learning and results you require. Presentations include:

  • Beyond crazy care: How innovators are transforming a dysfunctional healthcare system

  • The Patient Centered Medical Home: too little too late or future of
    primary care?

  • Innovation in primary care: beyond burnout to to advanced models of care

  • Marcus Welby vs. RoboDoc: simple metrics for new
    payment models

  • Reducing unnecessary ED visits and re-admissions: pipe dream or within our grasp?
